Janelle is a registered clinical counsellor who specializes in individual and couples counselling. When her son was born in 2016 Janelle took a step away from her private practice to pursue motherhood head on. Following the birth of her daughter in 2017, she began to realize that the women and men in her parenthood support community were continually facing the same common difficulties. Many identified with feeling burdened by the mental load of balancing competing household/relationship/work and family responsibilities. Others felt they had lost their identities along the road of becoming a mother or parent. With these complex challenges came extraordinary guilt, energy depletion, loss of patience and in some cases depression and anxiety. It was then that Janelle founded Modern Mom & Marriage Counselling and committed herself to helping mothers and couples find the joy and balance in parenting.
